John Hanson (1721-1783) — of Maryland. Born near Port Tobacco, Charles County, Md., April 14, 1721. Planter; member of Maryland state senate, 1757-73; Delegate to Continental Congress from Maryland, 1779-82; signer, Articles of Confederation, 1781. Swedish ancestry. Died in Oxon Hill, Prince George's County, Md., November 22, 1783 (age 62 years, 222 days). Interment a private or family graveyard, Prince George's County, Md.; statue at Frederick County Courthouse Grounds, Frederick, Md.

		Relatives: Son of Samuel Hanson and Elizabeth (Storey) Hanson; married 1747 to Jane Contee; father of Jane Contee Hanson (who married Philip Thomas), Peter Contee Hanson and Alexander Contee Hanson (1749-1806); grandfather of Rebecca Bellicum Thomas (who married Alexander Contee Magruder) and Alexander Contee Hanson (1786-1819).
		Political families: Lee-Randolph family; Carroll family of Maryland (subsets of the Four Thousand Related Politicians).
		The World War II Liberty ship SS John Hanson (built 1944 at Baltimore, Maryland; sold 1947, scrapped 1965) was named for him.

Born in New York, New York County, N.Y., June 14, 1939. Democrat. Lawyer; member of Maryland state senate District 4-C, 1967-78; candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, 1978; U.S. Representative from Maryland 5th District, 1981-; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Maryland, 1988, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 (speaker). Baptist. Danish ancestry. Still living as of 2019.

Albin Walter Norblad Jr. (1908-1964) — also known as A. Walter Norblad — of Astoria, Clatsop County, Ore.; Stayton, Marion County, Ore. Born in Escanaba, Delta County, Mich., September 12, 1908. Republican. Lawyer; member of Oregon state house of representatives, 1935-37; delegate to Republican National Convention from Oregon, 1940 (member, Committee on Rules and Order of Business), 1960; served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II; U.S. Representative from Oregon 1st District, 1946-64; defeated in primary, 1938; died in office 1964. Swedish ancestry. Died in Bethesda, Montgomery County, Md., September 20, 1964 (age 56 years, 8 days). Interment at Lone Oak Cemetery, Stayton, Ore.

Martin Olav Sabo (1938-2016) — of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minn. Born in Crosby, Divide County, N.Dak., February 28, 1938. Democrat. Insurance agent; member of Minnesota state house of representatives, 1961-78; Speaker of the Minnesota State House of Representatives, 1973-78; U.S. Representative from Minnesota 5th District, 1979-2007; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Minnesota, 1984, 1996, 2000, 2004. Lutheran. Norwegian ancestry. Died in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minn., March 13, 2016 (age 78 years, 14 days). Interment at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn.

Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.
