  Charles F. Cole (b. 1871) — of Beebe, White County, Ark.; Batesville, Independence County, Ark. Born in Wharton, Wyandot County, Ohio, June 13, 1871. Republican. Alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from Arkansas, 1896; lawyer; candidate for U.S. Representative from Arkansas 6th District, 1900; candidate for U.S. Senator from Arkansas, 1920, 1924; U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, 1922-30; director, First National Bank of Batesville; director, Citizens Bank and Trust Co., Batesville. Methodist. Member, American Bar Association. Burial location unknown.

  Charles McElroy Greene (c.1842-1916) — also known as Charles M. Greene — of Fayetteville, Washington County, Ark.; Harrison, Boone County, Ark. Born in Pennsylvania, about 1842. Republican. Served in the Union Army during the Civil War; banker; delegate to Republican National Convention from Arkansas, 1888, 1896, 1900, 1908, 1912 (alternate). Died in Harrison, Boone County, Ark., April 25, 1916 (age about 74 years). Burial location unknown.

  James W. Grubbs (1865-1956) — of Newport, Jackson County, Ark.; Little Rock, Pulaski County, Ark. Born in Jackson County, Ark., September 7, 1865. Republican. Merchant; postmaster at Newport, Ark., 1890-91, 1906-13; delegate to Republican National Convention from Arkansas, 1900; banker. Died April 27, 1956 (age 90 years, 233 days). Entombed in mausoleum at Mt. Holly Cemetery, Little Rock, Ark.

Colonel in the Union Army during the Civil War; planter; banker; delegate to Republican National Convention from Arkansas, 1868, 1884, 1888 (member, Committee to Notify Nominees), 1892 (alternate); U.S. Representative from Arkansas 1st District, 1868-71; defeated, 1870. The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.
