Elbridge Hanecy Elbridge Hanecy (b. 1852) — of Chicago, Cook County, Ill. Born in Wisconsin, March 15, 1852. Republican. Lawyer; circuit judge in Illinois, 1893-1903; candidate for mayor of Chicago, Ill., 1901; superior court judge in Illinois, 1903-04. Member, Union League. Burial location unknown.

  Walter J. LaBuy (1888-1967) — of Chicago, Cook County, Ill. Born in Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wis., July 25, 1888. Democrat. Lawyer; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Illinois, 1920 (alternate), 1932; circuit judge in Illinois, 1933-44; U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois, 1944. Member, American Bar Association; American Judicature Society; Union League. Died September 29, 1967 (age 79 years, 66 days). Interment at St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Niles, Ill.

  George Wilson Mead (1871-1961) — also known as George W. Mead — of Grand Rapids (now Wisconsin Rapids), Wood County, Wis.; Wisconsin Rapids, Wood County, Wis. Born in Chicago, Cook County, Ill., February 22, 1871. Republican. Paper manufacturer; banker; mayor of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., 1926-32; delegate to Republican National Convention from Wisconsin, 1932. Congregationalist. Member, Freemasons; Theta Delta Chi; Union League. Died in Wisconsin Rapids, Wood County, Wis., October 2, 1961 (age 90 years, 222 days). Interment at Forest Hill Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.

  John Reynard Todd (c.1868-1945) — also known as John R. Todd — of Summit, Union County, N.J.; Manhattan, New York County, N.Y. Born in Johnstown, Rock County, Wis., about 1868. Republican. Lawyer; president of the Todd Robertson Todd construction and engineering firm; delegate to Republican National Convention from New Jersey, 1928, 1932, 1940. Member, Union League. Died, of a heart attack, in Manhattan, New York County, N.Y., May 12, 1945 (age about 77 years). Burial location unknown.

Member, Union League; Society of Colonial Wars; Sons of the American Revolution; Loyal Legion. Died, from a cerebral hemorrhage, in Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Fla., February 15, 1925 (age 64 years, 17 days). Interment at Rosehill Cemetery, Chicago, Ill.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
