School teacher; lawyer; delegate to Republican National Convention from Vermont, 1868; Franklin County State's Attorney; member of Vermont state senate, 1871-74; founder of village of Baldwin, Wis., 1871; built the Matchless Flour Mills there, and owned three saw mills; member of Wisconsin state senate, 1878-79; St. Croix County Commissioner, 1880-82; insurance business; Minnehaha County State's Attorney, 1890-95. Burial location unknown.
  Albert N. Barber (1858-1940) — of Esmond, Kingsbury County, S.Dak. Born in Davis Junction, Ogle County, Ill., May 16, 1858. Republican. Grain elevator business; druggist; banker; lumber merchant; member of South Dakota state house of representatives 23rd District, 1911-12. Died in Riverside, Riverside County, Calif., August 29, 1940 (age 82 years, 105 days). Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park, Riverside, Calif.
  Relatives: Son of Nelson F. Barber and Jane (Brooks) Barber; married, March 16, 1882, to Amanda E. Williams.

  James Henry Carroll (1876-1950) — also known as James H. Carroll — of Glidden, Ashland County, Wis. Born in Eaton town, Manitowoc County, Wis., May 7, 1876. Republican. Banker; real estate business; appraiser; farmer; timber business; insurance agent; member of Wisconsin state senate 12th District, 1925-32, 1941-44; defeated, 1936. Died in 1950 (age about 74 years). Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Glidden, Wis.

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.
