  Relatives: Son of George Walter Allaman and Ida Campbell (McGill) Allaman; married to Carryee Rone; father of Walter Rex Allaman (1918-1944; Army Air Forces bomber pilot in World War II; killed in France, a day or two after D-Day).

Hardware buyer; Consul for Argentina in St. Louis, Mo., 1895-98. Died, from "quick consumption" (tuberculosis), in Union Station, Kansas City, Jackson County, Mo., 1899 (age about 37 years). Interment at Bellefontaine Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.

  J. O. Hays (b. 1882) — of Phillipsburg, Laclede County, Mo. Born January 30, 1882. Republican. Blacksmith; grocer; hardware merchant; member of Missouri state house of representatives from Laclede County, 1947-48. Member, Odd Fellows; Modern Woodmen of America. Burial location unknown.

  Tom Kelly (1865-1935) — of Stillwater, Payne County, Okla. Born in Missouri, February 15, 1865. Republican. Hardware merchant; postmaster at Stillwater, Okla., 1923-35; delegate to Republican National Convention from Oklahoma, 1928. Member, Freemasons. Died in Stillwater, Payne County, Okla., November 10, 1935 (age 70 years, 268 days). Interment at Fairlawn Cemetery, Stillwater, Okla.

Lumber dealer; hardware business; banker; member of Missouri Republican State Committee, 1914-26; Missouri Republican state chair, 1924-26, 1948; delegate to Republican National Convention from Missouri, 1928, 1940 (member, Committee to Notify Presidential Nominee). Protestant. Member, Elks; Freemasons; Shriners. Burial location unknown.

  Walter M. Taussig (1862-1923) — of Yonkers, Westchester County, N.Y. Born in St. Louis, Mo., June 10, 1862. Democrat. President, Wiesbuch & Hilger, hardware exporters; vice-president, American Chain Company; president, Challenge Cutlery Company; mayor of Yonkers, N.Y., 1922-23; defeated, 1923; died in office 1923. Shot himself in the head, in the garage of his home, and died forty minutes later, in St. John's Hospital, Yonkers, Westchester County, N.Y., November 21, 1923 (age 61 years, 164 days). Burial location unknown.

  Herbert Arthur Wolcott (1862-1930) — also known as H. A. Wolcott — of Carthage, Jasper County, Mo. Born in Bellevue, Huron County, Ohio, May 27, 1862. Democrat. Hardware merchant; mining business; member of Missouri state house of representatives from Jasper County 1st District, 1923-24. Episcopalian. Member, Elks; Lions. Died, from complications of heart disease, in Carthage, Jasper County, Mo., December 4, 1930 (age 68 years, 191 days). Interment at Park Cemetery, Carthage, Mo.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
