  Jeannette Rankin (1880-1973) — of Missoula, Missoula County, Mont.; Carmel, Monterey County, Calif. Born near Missoula, Missoula County, Mont., June 11, 1880. Social worker; U.S. Representative from Montana, 1917-19, 1941-43 (2nd District 1917-19, 1st District 1941-43); National candidate for U.S. Senator from Montana, 1918. Female. Member, American Civil Liberties Union. Voted against U.S. participation in World Wars I and II; inducted, National Women's Hall of Fame, 1993. Died in Carmel, Monterey County, Calif., May 18, 1973 (age 92 years, 341 days). Interment at Missoula Cemetery, Missoula, Mont.
  Relatives: Daughter of John Rankin (1840-1904) and Olive (Pickering) Rankin (1853-1947); sister of Wellington Duncan Rankin (1884-1966) (who married Opal Louise Replogle).

  Wellington Duncan Rankin (1884-1966) — also known as Wellington D. Rankin — of Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Mont. Born in Missoula, Missoula County, Mont., September 16, 1884. Republican. Lawyer; served in the U.S. Army during World War I; Montana state attorney general, 1921-24; U.S. Attorney for Montana, 1926-34; candidate for Governor of Montana, 1928; candidate for U.S. Senator from Montana, 1942. Died June 4, 1966 (age 81 years, 261 days). Interment at Missoula Cemetery, Missoula, Mont.
  Relatives: Son of John Rankin (1840-1904) and Olive (Pickering) Rankin (1853-1947); brother of Jeannette Rankin; married, March 2, 1910, to Elizabeth Floweree Wallace; married, April 16, 1954, to Opal Louise Replogle (step-mother of Errol Thomas Galt; step-grandmother of Errol Wylie Galt (1973?-); who later married Jack E. Galt).
