Henry B. Farren Henry B. Farren (1848-1905) — of Elvira Township, Buffalo County, S.Dak. Born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., November 4, 1848. Republican. Carpenter; lawyer; Buffalo County State's Attorney; member of South Dakota state house of representatives 16th District, 1903-04. Died March 5, 1905 (age 56 years, 121 days). Interment at Spring Hill Cemetery, Gann Valley, S.Dak.

  Jesse Hiatt (1841-1925) — of Union Township, Poweshiek County, Iowa; Kimball, Brule County, S.Dak.; Oleta Township, Ellis County, Okla. Born in Fairfield Township, Highland County, Ohio, December 31, 1841. Served in the Union Army during the Civil War; farmer; carpenter; member of South Dakota state senate 14th District, 1899-1900. Died April 1, 1925 (age 83 years, 91 days). Interment at Fargo Cemetery, Fargo, Okla.
  Relatives: Son of Amos Hiatt and Lydia (Davis) Hiatt; married, October 27, 1864, to Margaret Elizabeth Whitaker; third cousin twice removed of Joseph Hurst Ball; fourth cousin once removed of Lovy Lorene Hiatt.

  Elvin R. Stewart (1896-1951) — also known as E. R. Stewart; "Red" — of Casper, Natrona County, Wyo.; Gordon, Sheridan County, Neb. Born in Townsend, Broadwater County, Mont., August 28, 1896. Served in the U.S. Army during World War I; lumber salesman; contractor; real estate business; candidate in primary for mayor of Casper, Wyo., 1945; service station operator. Died, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Hot Springs, Fall River County, S.Dak., June 8, 1951 (age 54 years, 284 days). Interment at Highland Cemetery, Casper, Wyo.

Builder; real estate developer; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Oregon, 1964; U.S. Representative from Oregon 4th District, 1975-87; defeated, 1970. Still living as of 2014.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
