Died, in Lewiston Hospital, Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pa., June 25, 1947 (age 78 years, 200 days). Interment at St. Mark's Cemetery, Lewistown, Pa.

  David Megle Boies (b. 1895) — also known as David M. Boies — of Clairton, Allegheny County, Pa. Born in Logansport, Cass County, Ind., December 15, 1895. Democrat. Served in the U.S. Army during World War I; dentist; candidate for mayor of Clairton, Pa., 1933; member of Pennsylvania state house of representatives from Allegheny County 14th District, 1936-60. Member, Delta Sigma Delta; American Legion. Burial location unknown.

  William Francis Calhoun (1844-1929) — also known as William F. Calhoun — of Decatur, Macon County, Ill. Born in Perry County, Pa., November 21, 1844. Republican. Served in the Union Army during the Civil War; dentist; newspaper editor; postmaster at Decatur, Ill., 1897-1913. Member, Grand Army of the Republic. Died in Decatur, Macon County, Ill., June 10, 1929 (age 84 years, 201 days). Interment at Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, Ill.
  Relatives: Son of John Caldwell Calhoun (1810-1858) and Catherine (Kiner) Calhoun; married, August 18, 1869, to Blanche Barbara Derthick; second cousin once removed of Sarah Ann Calhoun (who married Alexander Henry Brown); second cousin twice removed of John Ewing Colhoun, Joseph Calhoun and John Caldwell Calhoun (1782-1850); third cousin once removed of Andrew Pickens, Floride Calhoun and John Alfred Calhoun; fourth cousin of Francis Wilkinson Pickens; fourth cousin once removed of John Temple Graves.

  William Anthony Choby (b. 1951) — also known as Bill Choby — of Johnstown, Cambria County, Pa. Born in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pa., April 23, 1951. Republican. Dentist; candidate for U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania 12th District, 1990, 1994, 1996, 2000, 2002; delegate to Republican National Convention from Pennsylvania, 2004. Still living as of 2004.

  Homer Eugene Corbett (1883-1943) — also known as Homer E. Corbett — of New Bethlehem, Clarion County, Pa. Born in Oakland, Armstrong County, Pa., May 1, 1883. Republican. Dentist; alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from Pennsylvania, 1912, 1932. Died in 1943 (age about 60 years). Interment at New Bethlehem Cemetery, New Bethlehem, Pa.

Died, from diabetes mellitus, and complications of the amputation of his right leg for gangrene, in Allegheny Valley General Hospital, Natrona Heights, Harrison Township, Allegheny County, Pa., December 17, 1933 (age 66 years, 263 days). Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Leechburg, Pa.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
