Mack W. Crouch Mack W. Crouch (1896-1975) — of Burley, Cassia County, Idaho. Born September 22, 1896. Insurance and real estate business; mayor of Burley, Idaho, 1964-65; defeated, 1965, 1969. Died December 23, 1975 (age 79 years, 92 days). Interment at Pleasant View Cemetery, Burley, Idaho.

Insurance business; member of Idaho state senate, 1941-50; alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from Idaho, 1944; Lieutenant Governor of Idaho, 1951-55; candidate for mayor of Nampa, Idaho, 1965; secretary of state of Idaho, 1967; died in office 1967. Methodist. Member, Grange; Kiwanis; Odd Fellows; Freemasons; Shriners. Died April 22, 1967 (age 63 years, 162 days). Interment at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa, Idaho.

  George Vernon Hansen (1930-2014) — also known as George V. Hansen — of Pocatello, Bannock County, Idaho. Born in Tetonia, Teton County, Idaho, September 14, 1930. Republican. Insurance agent; mayor of Alameda, Idaho, 1961-62; Republican candidate for U.S. Senator from Idaho, 1962 (primary), 1968, 1972 (primary); U.S. Representative from Idaho 2nd District, 1965-69, 1975-85. Mormon. Member, American Legion; Farm Bureau; Kiwanis. Convicted in 1984 of failing to include four transactions on federal disclosure forms; sentenced to 15 months in prison and fined $40,000; reprimanded by the U.S. House; his conviction was reversed in 1995. Died in Pocatello, Bannock County, Idaho, August 14, 2014 (age 83 years, 334 days). Burial location unknown.

  John Burrus Lloyd (1913-1974) — also known as John B. Lloyd — of Weiser, Washington County, Idaho. Born in Weiser, Washington County, Idaho, June 4, 1913. Republican. Insurance and real estate business; alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from Idaho, 1956, 1968; mayor of Weiser, Idaho, 1957-63; defeated, 1963; Republican Presidential Elector for Idaho, 1972 (voted for Richard M. Nixon and Spiro T. Agnew). Died in Malheur County, Ore., June 3, 1974 (age 60 years, 364 days). Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weiser, Idaho.

Member, American Legion; Psi Upsilon; Phi Delta Phi; Freemasons; Rotary. Died March 2, 1990 (age 90 years, 132 days). Burial location unknown.

  William Porter Whitaker (1882-1957) — also known as William P. Whitaker; W. P. Whitaker — of Pocatello, Bannock County, Idaho. Born in Utah, April 2, 1882. Democrat. Locomotive engineer; mayor of Pocatello, Idaho, 1919-20; candidate for U.S. Representative from Idaho 2nd District, 1920, 1922; real estate and insurance business; florist; candidate for Governor of Idaho, 1938. Leaving the post office and getting into his car, he suffered a heart attack and died, in Pocatello, Bannock County, Idaho, January 15, 1957 (age 74 years, 288 days). Interment at Mountain View Cemetery, Pocatello, Idaho.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 338,260 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.
