Lawyer; Cayuga County Common Pleas Judge, 1823-28; U.S. Representative from New York 24th District, 1829-31. Died in Auburn, Cayuga County, N.Y., June 25, 1831 (age 41 years, 349 days). 	William Beatty Rochester (1789-1838) — also known as William B. Rochester — of Bath, Steuben County, N.Y. Born in Hagerstown, Washington County, Md., January 29, 1789. Democrat. Member of New York state assembly from Allegany and Steuben counties, 1816-18; U.S. Representative from New York, 1821-23 (20th District 1821-23, 28th District 1823); candidate for Governor of New York, 1826.
