Lawyer; Madison County Attorney, 1894-98; district judge in Montana 5th District, 1905-13; alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from Montana, 1920; chief justice of Montana state supreme court, 1922-34; appointed 1922; defeated, 1934. Member, American Bar Association; Freemasons; Knights Templar; Elks. Died in Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Mont., August 6, 1951 (age 82 years, 234 days). Interment at Forestvale Cemetery, Helena, Mont.
  Relatives: Son of James Edmund Callaway and Mary Elizabeth (Link) Callaway; married, December 12, 1894, to Ellen Nimma Badger.

  LeRoy Albert Foot (b. 1882) — also known as L. A. Foot — of Kalispell, Flathead County, Mont.; Fort Peck, Valley County, Mont. Born in Melrose, Stearns County, Minn., September 9, 1882. Republican. Lawyer; served in the U.S. Army during World War I; Montana state attorney general, 1924-33. Presbyterian. Member, American Legion; Freemasons; Knights Templar; Shriners. Burial location unknown.

  Winfield Emerson Page (1904-1994) — also known as Winfield E. Page — of Missoula, Missoula County, Mont. Born in Owatonna, Steele County, Minn., May 23, 1904. Republican. Republican candidate for U.S. Representative from Montana 1st District, 1940 (primary), 1954; member of Montana state house of representatives, 1943-49; delegate to Republican National Convention from Montana, 1944. Baptist. Member, Freemasons; Shriners; Knights Templar. Died July 11, 1994 (age 90 years, 49 days). Interment at Sunset Cemetery, Missoula, Mont.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.
