Died in Fryeburg, Oxford County, Maine, October 1, 1822 (age 85 years, 2 days). 	Edmund Gibson Ross (1826-1907) — also known as Edmund G. Ross — of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kan. Born in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio, December 7, 1826. Republican. Delegate to Kansas state constitutional convention, 1859; major in the Union Army during the Civil War; U.S. Senator from Kansas, 1866-71; candidate for Governor of Kansas, 1880; Governor of New Mexico Territory, 1885-89. Presbyterian. Thought to have cast the deciding vote in the Senate to acquit President Andrew Johnson. His grandson, Edmund Fessenden Cobb, was an actor who appeared in over 200 movies and serials including Citizen Kane and The Last Hurrah. Died, of pneumonia, in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, N.M., May 8, 1907 (age 80 years, 152 days). Interment at Fairview Memorial Park, Albuquerque, N.M.   Relatives: Son of Sylvester Flint Ross (1798-1873) and Sinthy (Rice) Ross (1805-1875); brother-in-law of Edwin Mortimer Hewins (1839-1898); brother of William Wallace Ross; married to Fanny M. 	William Wallace Ross (1828-1889) — of Topeka, Shawnee County, Kan. Born in Huron, Erie County, Ohio, December 25, 1828. Republican. Newspaper publisher; delegate to Kansas state constitutional convention, 1857; delegate to Republican National Convention from Kansas, 1860; mayor of Topeka, Kan., 1865-66. Died, of stomach cancer, in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, Calif., June 5, 1889 (age 60 years, 162 days). Served in the Union Army during the Civil War; member of Kansas state house of representatives 95th District, 1877-79; member of Kansas state senate 21st District, 1885-87; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Kansas, 1888. Member, Freemasons. Died in Douglas, Converse County, Wyo., 1898 (age about 59 years). 	Meredith Pinxton Snyder (1859-1937) — also known as Meredith P. Snyder; Pinky Snyder — of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, Calif. Born in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, N.C., October 22, 1859. Democrat. Mayor of Los Angeles, Calif., 1896-98, 1900-04, 1919-21; defeated, 1898, 1904, 1917, 1921. Protestant. Member, Freemasons; Knights Templar; Shriners; Knights of Pythias; Elks. Died of bladder cancer, in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, Calif., April 7, 1937 (age 77 years, 167 days). Interment at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Hollywood, Los Angeles, Calif.   Relatives: Son of Kehlin D. Snyder (1829-1891) and Elizabeth (Hier) Snyder (1829-1874); married to May Ross (1856-1937; daughter of William Wallace Ross (1828-1889); niece of Edmund Gibson Ross); father of Capt.
