  Jonas B. Lambert (1845-1927) — of Hastings, Dakota County, Minn. Born in Bucksport, Hancock County, Maine, May 17, 1845. Served in the Union Army during the Civil War; music teacher; music store owner; mayor of Hastings, Minn., 1878-80. Died in Hastings, Dakota County, Minn., 1927 (age about 82 years). Interment at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery, Hastings, Minn.
  Relatives: Son of Robert Lambert and Eliza Lambert; married 1871 to Barbara Schaller.

  Norman James Larson (1902-1999) — also known as Norman Larson — of Ada, Norman County, Minn. Born in Borup, Norman County, Minn., December 26, 1902. Musician; automobile dealer; member of Minnesota state senate, 1939-70 (64th District 1939-62, 65th District 1963-66, 66th District 1967-70); served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Norwegian ancestry. Died, in Lutheran Memorial Home, Halstad, Norman County, Minn., January 14, 1999 (age 96 years, 19 days). Burial location unknown.
  Relatives: Son of Ole Larson and Anna (Ike) Larson; married, October 4, 1930, to Mildred Anna Voegele.

  Victor Aloysius Meyers (c.1898-1991) — also known as Victor A. Meyers; Vic Meyers; "The Clown Prince of Politics"; "The Pagliacci of Politics" — of Seattle, King County, Wash. Born in Little Falls, Morrison County, Minn., about 1898. Musician and bandleader; comedian; candidate for mayor of Seattle, Wash., 1932, 1938, 1946; Lieutenant Governor of Washington, 1933-52; secretary of state of Washington, 1957-64. Died May 27, 1991 (age about 93 years). Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Renton, Wash.
  Leona Scheunemann Witter (1914-2006) — also known as Leona Scheunemann — of St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minn.; Lansing, Ingham County, Mich. Born in White Bear Lake, Ramsey County, Minn., December 17, 1914. Republican. Opera singer; performed, Republican National Convention, 1952. Female. Died February 1, 2006 (age 91 years, 46 days). Burial location unknown.
  Relatives: Daughter of Paul F. Scheunemann and Clara A. (Fortmeyer) Schuenemann; married 1943 to Lee Harold Witter.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
