Lawyer; member of Alabama Democratic State Executive Committee, 1894-1900; chair of Talladega County Democratic Party, 1896-99; U.S. Representative from Alabama 4th District, 1901-07; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Alabama, 1920 (delegation chair); automobile dealer; director, First National Bank of Talladega; American Trust and Savings Bank; Industrial Savings Bank. Presbyterian. Member, Elks; Freemasons; Knights of Pythias. Died in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Ala., May 7, 1928 (age 62 years, 286 days). Interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, Ala.

Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.
