Delegate to Democratic National Convention from Pennsylvania, 1924, 1928, 1940, 1944 (member, Platform and Resolutions Committee; speaker), 1948, 1952, 1956, 1960, 1968; member of Democratic National Committee from Pennsylvania, 1932-70; delegate to Pennsylvania convention to ratify 21st amendment, 1933; Vice-Chair of Democratic National Committee, 1939. Female. Member, Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. Died, from a heart attack, in Richmond, Va., February 23, 1970 (age 95 years, 232 days). Interment at Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Va.

Joseph F. Guffey (1875-1959) — of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa. Born in Westmoreland County, Pa., December 29, 1875. Democrat. Utility executive; oil business; member of Democratic National Committee from Pennsylvania, 1920-36; U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania, 1935-47; defeated, 1946; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Pennsylvania, 1944 (member, Platform and Resolutions Committee), 1948, 1952 (alternate). Died in Washington, D.C., March 6, 1959 (age 83 years, 67 days). Interment at West Newton Cemetery, West Newton, Pa.

		Relatives: Son of John Guffey and Barbaretta (Hough) Guffey; brother of Mary Emma Guffey (who married Carroll Miller).

Carroll Miller (1875-1949) — of Pennsylvania. Born in Virginia, 1875. Member, Interstate Commerce Commission, 1933-49. Died in Virginia, December, 1949 (age about 74 years). Interment at Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Va.

		Relatives: Son of William Gardner Miller and Emma H. (Wigglesworth) Miller; married 1902 to Mary Emma Guffey (sister of Joseph F. Guffey).
