  Relatives: Son of Henry Dockweiler (1824-1887) and Margaretha (Sugg) Dockweiler (1827-1924); married, June 30, 1891, to Gertrude Reeve (1871-1937); father of Henry Isidore Dockweiler and John Francis Dockweiler (1895-1943).

Lawyer; delegate to Democratic National Convention from California, 1948. Died in 1970 (age about 77 years). Burial location unknown.

U.S. Representative from California 16th District, 1933-39; candidate in primary for Governor of California, 1938; Los Angeles County District Attorney, 1940-43. Catholic. Member, American Bar Association. Died in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, Calif., January 31, 1943 (age 47 years, 134 days). Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Los Angeles, Calif.
