Nic J. Bichler Nicholas John Bichler (1894-1961) — also known as Nic J. Bichler — of Belgium, Ozaukee County, Wis. Born in Belgium, Ozaukee County, Wis., November 26, 1894. Democrat. Farmer; member of Wisconsin state assembly from Ozaukee County, 1935-42, 1951-52; defeated, 1952, 1954; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Wisconsin, 1940; candidate for Wisconsin state senate 20th District, 1956. Luxemburgian ancestry. Died in Fredonia, Ozaukee County, Wis., November 29, 1961 (age 67 years, 3 days). Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lake Church, Wis.
  Relatives: Son of William J. Bichler and Catherine (Pierron) Bichler; married, February 22, 1918, to Margaret Mueller.

Member of Wisconsin state assembly, 1907-12; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Wisconsin, 1912; member of Wisconsin state senate, 1913-16. Luxemburgian ancestry. Died in Fredonia, Ozaukee County, Wis., December 6, 1926 (age 56 years, 22 days). Interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Dacada, Wis.
  Relatives: Son of Dominique Julius Bichler and Maria (Zirbes) Bichler; married 1894 to Catherine Pierron; father of Nicholas John Bichler.

S. J. Conklin Sylvester Jones Conklin (b. 1829) — also known as S. J. Conklin — of Waterloo, Jefferson County, Wis.; Watertown, Codington County, Dakota Territory (now S.Dak.). Born in Penn Yan, Yates County, N.Y., May 5, 1829. Republican. Shoemaker; member of Wisconsin state assembly, 1859, 1869; served in the Union Army during the Civil War; alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from Wisconsin, 1868; newspaper publisher; Adjutant General of South Dakota, 1901-03. Dutch, Welsh, and French ancestry. Burial location unknown.

Paul O. Husting Paul Oscar Adolph Husting (1866-1917) — also known as Paul O. Husting — of Mayville, Dodge County, Wis. Born in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wis., April 25, 1866. Democrat. Lawyer; Dodge County District Attorney, 1903-06; member of Wisconsin state senate 13th District, 1907-14; U.S. Senator from Wisconsin, 1915-17; died in office 1917; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Wisconsin, 1916 (member, Platform and Resolutions Committee). French, Luxemburgian, and Menominee Indian ancestry. Accidentally shot in the back by his brother Gustave, when he stood up in his boat while duck hunting on Rush Lake, and died soon after in a nearby farmhouse, near Pickett, Winnebago County, Wis., October 21, 1917 (age 51 years, 179 days). Interment at Graceland Cemetery, Mayville, Wis.
  Relatives: Son of John P. Husting and Mary M. (Juneau) Husting; grandson of Solomon Juneau.

Ernest G. Sauld Ernest George Sauld (1885-1959) — also known as Ernest G. Sauld — of Pembine, Marinette County, Wis. Born in Luxembourg, July 4, 1885. Democrat. Hotel business; merchant; real estate business; member of Wisconsin state senate 30th District, 1937-40. Luxemburgian ancestry. Died in Pembine, Marinette County, Wis., December 10, 1959 (age 74 years, 159 days). Interment at Pembine Cemetery, Pembine, Wis.
  Relatives: Son of Laurant Sauld and Anne Catherine Victoria (Parmentier) Sauld; married to Emma Mae Jermac.

John H. M. Wigman John Henry M. Wigman (1835-1920) — also known as John H. M. Wigman — of Appleton, Outagamie County, Wis.; Green Bay, Brown County, Wis. Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, August 15, 1835. Lawyer; Outagamie County District Attorney; mayor of Green Bay, Wis., 1882-83; U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, 1893-97. Catholic. Dutch ancestry. Died, from diabetes, in Green Bay, Brown County, Wis., January 31, 1920 (age 84 years, 169 days). Interment at Allouez Catholic Cemetery, Allouez, Wis.
  Relatives: Son of James B. Wigman and Matilda (Doorenboss) Wigman; married 1857 to Matilda Lyonais; married 1876 to Johanna 'Jennie' Meagher.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
