      Rosendo Torrás (1851-1929) — of Brunswick, Glynn County, Ga. Born in Spain, February 2, 1851. Lumber export business; Vice-Consul for Portugal in Brunswick, Ga., 1880-1903; Vice-Consul for Spain in Brunswick, Ga., 1886-98, 1900-07; Consul for Argentina in Brunswick, Ga., 1886-1903; Vice-Consul for Sweden & Norway in Brunswick, Ga., 1887-1903; Vice-Consul for Great Britain in Brunswick, Ga., 1893-1907; Vice-Consul for Uruguay in Brunswick, Ga., 1901-03; Honorary Consul for Cuba in Brunswick, Ga., 1904-14; Vice-Consul for Argentina in Brunswick, Ga., 1906-14, 1923-29. Spanish ancestry. Died in a hospital at Brunswick, Glynn County, Ga., January 2, 1929 (age 77 years, 335 days). Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Died in Falls Church, Va., August 16, 1968 (age 57 years, 24 days). Interment at Palmetto Cemetery.

      Henry T. Dunn (1843-1919) — of Brunswick, Glynn County, Ga. Born in Elmira, Chemung County, N.Y., 1843. Vice-Consul for Uruguay in Brunswick, Ga., 1883-1900; U.S. Collector of Customs, 1903-09. Died in Augusta, Richmond County, Ga., October 4, 1919 (age about 76 years). Interment at Palmetto Cemetery.
      Relatives: Son of James Dunn and Eliza (Thomson) Dunn; married, December 22, 1864, to Margaret C. Baker.

Lawyer; member of Georgia state senate, 1832-37, 1859; delegate to Georgia state constitutional convention, 1833; U.S. Representative from Georgia, 1839-43, 1845-50 (at-large 1839-43, 1st District 1845-50); delegate to Whig National Convention from Georgia, 1844; went to California for the 1849 Gold Rush; U.S. Collector of Customs, 1851-53. Slaveowner. Died in Waresboro, Ware County, Ga., May 10, 1864 (age 63 years, 257 days). Interment at Christ Churchyard.
      Relatives: Son of Daniel King and Hannah (Lord) King; brother of Henry King; married 1824 to Anna Matilda Page; father of Georgia Page King (daughter-in-law of John Randolph Wilder; who married Joseph John Wilder), Florence Barclay King (who married Henry Rootes Jackson) and John Floyd King.

    The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
     
      The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.
