U.S. Representative from Massachusetts 1st District, 1837-39; justice of Massachusetts state supreme court, 1848-53. Died in Boston, Suffolk County, Mass., June 21, 1869 (age 81 years, 164 days). Interment at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Mass.

Ryland Fletcher (1799-1885) — of Proctorsville, Cavendish, Windsor County, Vt. Born in Cavendish, Windsor County, Vt., February 18, 1799. Republican. Farmer; member of Vermont state senate, 1850; Lieutenant Governor of Vermont, 1854-56; delegate to Republican National Convention from Vermont, 1856 (member, Committee on Permanent Organization); Governor of Vermont, 1856-58; member of Vermont state house of representatives, 1861-64; candidate for Presidential Elector for Vermont; delegate to Vermont state constitutional convention, 1870. Died in Cavendish, Windsor County, Vt., December 19, 1885 (age 86 years, 304 days). Interment at Cavendish Village Cemetery, Cavendish, Vt.

Henry Addison Fletcher (1839-1897) — also known as Henry A. Fletcher — of Proctorsville, Cavendish, Windsor County, Vt. Born in Cavendish, Windsor County, Vt., December 11, 1839. Republican. Farmer; served in the Union Army during the Civil War; member of Vermont state house of representatives from Cavendish, 1867-68, 1878-82; member of Vermont state senate from Windsor County, 1886-87; Lieutenant Governor of Vermont, 1890-92. Baptist. Died, of pneumonia, in Proctorsville, Cavendish, Windsor County, Vt., 1897 (age about 57 years). Burial location unknown.
