John Patrick Williams (b. 1937) — also known as Pat Williams — of Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Mont.; Missoula, Missoula County, Mont. Born in Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Mont., October 30, 1937. Democrat. School teacher; member of Montana state house of representatives, 1967-69; executive assistant to U.S. Rep. John Melcher, 1969-71; U.S. Representative from Montana, 1979-97 (1st District 1979-93, at-large 1993-97); defeated in primary, 1974; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Montana, 1988, 1996. Catholic. Member, Elks. Still living as of 2014.
