  Gustav O. Kundert (1913-2000) — also known as Gust Kundert — of Mound City, Campbell County, S.Dak. Born in Java, Walworth County, S.Dak., December 7, 1913. Republican. Served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II; accountant; member of South Dakota state house of representatives 25th District, 1983-88. Presbyterian. Volga German ancestry. Died in Yorkville, Kendall County, Ill., March 23, 2000 (age 86 years, 107 days). Interment at Mound City Cemetery, Mound City, S.Dak.
  Relatives: Son of Otto John Kundert and Maria (Rieger) Kundert; brother of Alice Kundert; married to Minnie Mahling.

Clothing merchant; bookkeeper; real estate business; mayor of Canton, S.D., 1895-96; member of South Dakota state senate 5th District, 1907-10. English ancestry.   Walter Sutherland Riblet (b. 1864) — also known as Walter S. Riblet — of Columbia, Brown County, S.Dak.; Mt. Vernon, Skagit County, Wash. Born in Okee, Columbia County, Wis., July 25, 1864. Accountant; U.S. Consular Agent in Nelson, 1902-11. Burial location unknown.
Howard C. Taylor Howard Charles Taylor (b. 1899) — also known as Howard C. Taylor — of Vermillion, Clay County, S.Dak.; Meckling, Clay County, S.Dak. Born in Meckling, Clay County, S.Dak., August 19, 1899. Served in the U.S. Army during World War I; bookkeeper; U.S. Vice Consul in Stuttgart, 1924-26; Hamburg, 1928-30; U.S. Consul in Tientsin, as of 1932. Burial location unknown.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
