Accountant for Nevada Northern Railway; member of Nevada Republican State Executive Committee, 1948; alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from Nevada, 1948; chair of White Pine County Republican Party, 1948. Methodist. Member, Lions; Freemasons; Scottish Rite Masons; Royal Arch Masons; Knights Templar; Order of the Eastern Star; Shriners. Died May 5, 2001 (age 95 years, 62 days). Cremated; ashes interred at Serenity Falls Columbarium, Morgan County, Colo.

Walter Douglas Cavers (1888-1955) — also known as Walter D. Cavers — of White Lake town, Langlade County, Wis. Born in Allamakee County, Iowa, October 31, 1888. Republican. Accountant for lumber company; candidate for Wisconsin state senate 30th District, 1936; member of Wisconsin state assembly from Langlade County, 1951-54; defeated, 1954. Scottish ancestry. Died in Antigo, Langlade County, Wis., December 7, 1955 (age 67 years, 37 days). Burial location unknown.

Jim Duncan (b. 1942) — of Juneau, Alaska. Born in Muscatine, Muscatine County, Iowa, May 14, 1942. Democrat. Accountant; member of Alaska state house of representatives, 1957-86; member of Alaska state senate, 1987-; candidate for U.S. Representative from Alaska at-large, 1998. Member, Rotary; Elks. Still living as of 1998.

Raymond Allen Constan Johnson (b. 1923) — also known as Ray A. C. Johnson — of Lincoln, Lancaster County, Neb. Born in Stanton, Montgomery County, Iowa, July 25, 1923. Republican. Served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II; accountant; Nebraska state auditor, 1971-91. Member, American Legion; Freemasons; Kiwanis. Presumed deceased. Burial location unknown.

Clothing merchant; bookkeeper; real estate business; mayor of Canton, S.D., 1895-96; member of South Dakota state senate 5th District, 1907-10. English ancestry. Died in Lincoln County, S.Dak., May 20, 1911 (age 44 years, 0 days). Burial location unknown.

Thomas Ellsworth Martin (1893-1971) — also known as Thomas E. Martin — of Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa. Born in Melrose, Monroe County, Iowa, January 18, 1893. Republican. Served in the U.S. Army during World War I; accountant; lawyer; candidate for Iowa railroad commission, 1932, 1934; mayor of Iowa City, Iowa, 1935-37; U.S. Representative from Iowa 1st District, 1939-55; U.S. Senator from Iowa, 1955-61; delegate to Republican National Convention from Iowa, 1956. Member, Order of the Coif; American Bar Association. Died in Seattle, King County, Wash., June 27, 1971 (age 78 years, 160 days). Interment at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Ore.

John A. Nye (b. 1882) — Born in Essex, Page County, Iowa, November 30, 1882. Bookkeeper; school teacher; U.S. Vice Consul in Colombo, 1915-17. Burial location unknown.

Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.
