  Loranza Dow Bone (1886-1952) — also known as L. D. Bone — of Pineville, McDonald County, Mo. Born near Garfield, Benton County, Ark., December 5, 1886. Republican. School teacher; automobile mechanic; electrical inspector; deputy sheriff; real estate business; farmer; member of Missouri state house of representatives from McDonald County, 1945-48. Died February 17, 1952 (age 65 years, 74 days). Interment at Pineville Cemetery, Pineville, Mo.
  Relatives: Married 1907 to Betty Hileman; married 1937 to Lena Sullivan; father of Charles A. Bone.

  Simon P. Hughes (1830-1906) — of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Ark. Born in Carthage, Smith County, Tenn., August 14, 1830. Democrat. Lawyer; sheriff; colonel in the Confederate Army during the Civil War; member of Arkansas state house of representatives, 1866-67; delegate to Arkansas state constitutional convention, 1874; Arkansas state attorney general, 1874-77; Governor of Arkansas, 1885-89; member of Democratic National Committee from Arkansas, 1888; justice of Arkansas state supreme court, 1889-1904. Died in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Ark., June 29, 1906 (age 75 years, 319 days). Interment at Mt. Holly Cemetery, Little Rock, Ark.
  Relatives: Son of Simon P. Hughes and Mary Hughes; married, June 2, 1857, to Miss A. E. Blakemore.

  Clarence Hunter (1926-2004) — of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Ark. Born in Scott, Pulaski County, Ark., 1926. Police officer; member of Arkansas state house of representatives, 1985-86. African ancestry. Died, of a heart attack, in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Ark., February 23, 2004 (age about 77 years). Interment at Arkansas Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, Ark.
  Tommy Franklin Robinson (b. 1942) — also known as Tommy Robinson — of Jacksonville, Pulaski County, Ark. Born in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Ark., March 7, 1942. Police officer; Pulaski County Sheriff, 1980-84; U.S. Representative from Arkansas 2nd District, 1985-91; defeated (Republican), 2002. Methodist. Still living as of 2002.

The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.  
  The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
