Cabinetmaker; furniture and hardware merchant; building contractor; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Arkansas, 1908; Governor of Arkansas, 1909-13. Methodist. Member, Freemasons. Died, from heart disease, in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Ark., December 15, 1937 (age 81 years, 167 days). Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.
