Abraham L. Lawyer (1791-1853) — of Cobleskill, Schoharie County, N.Y. Born in Schoharie, Schoharie County, N.Y., August 20, 1791. Democrat. Member of New York state assembly, 1830, 1851 (Schoharie County 1830, Schoharie County 2nd District 1851); member of New York state senate 3rd District, 1835-38; postmaster at Cobleskill, N.Y., 1842-46. Died in 1853 (age about 61 years). Burial location unknown.

		Relatives: Son of Lorentz Lawyer (1750-1840) and Elizabeth (Lawyer) Lawyer; first cousin of Thomas Lawyer (1785-1868); first cousin twice removed of Charles Lawyer, Jr..
