Lawyer; member of Minnesota state house of representatives District 3, 1859-60; member of Minnesota state senate 7th District, 1861; postmaster at Hastings, Minn., 1865-68. Died October 31, 1868 (age about 43 years). Interment at St. Lukes Cemetery, Hastings, Minn.
  Relatives: Son of Abigail (Adams) Hayes (1785-1856) and John Hayes (1788-1835); brother of Oren Tracy Hayes; married to Louisa Anderson (c.1828-1896); uncle of Archibald Marshall Hayes (1872-1941).

  Oren Tracy Hayes (1827-1894) — also known as Oren T. Hayes — of Georges Mills, Sunapee, Sullivan County, N.H.; Hastings, Dakota County, Minn. Born in New London, Merrimack County, N.H., December 2, 1827. Democrat. Merchant; justice of the peace; lawyer; Dakota County Attorney, 1855; postmaster at Hastings, Minn., 1855-56; mayor of Hastings, Minn., 1859-60; major in the Union Army during the Civil War; member of Minnesota state house of representatives District 7, 1863. Episcopalian. Member, Freemasons; Knights Templar; Odd Fellows. Died in Hastings, Dakota County, Minn., March 24, 1894 (age 66 years, 112 days). Burial location unknown.
  Relatives: Son of Abigail (Adams) Hayes (1785-1856) and John Hayes (1788-1835); brother of Archibald M. Hayes (1825-1868); married to Lucina A. Emerson (died 1858); married, October 9, 1859, to Mary C. Matthews; father of Archibald Marshall Hayes.

Flour mill business; member of Minnesota state house of representatives District 30, 1905-06; clerk to U.S. Sen. Knute Nelson, 1910; postmaster of McGregor, Minn., 1922-34. Died October 22, 1941 (age 69 years, 179 days). Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Aitkin, Minn.
  Relatives: Son of Oren Tracy Hayes and Mary C. (Matthews) Hayes (1840-1919); married to Bessie Deneen (1881-1962); nephew of Archibald M. Hayes (1825-1868).
