Delegate to Indiana state constitutional convention, 1816; member of Indiana state senate, 1816-19, 1825-26, 1829-32; candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Indiana, 1819; member of Indiana state house of representatives, 1827-28, 1836-37. Member, Freemasons. Died in Grand Gulf, Claiborne County, Miss., January 25, 1838 (age 52 years, 320 days). Burial location unknown.

James De Pauw (1804-1834) — of Sullivan County, Ind. Born in Kentucky, 1804. Member of Indiana state house of representatives, 1833-34. Died near Sullivan, Sullivan County, Ind., July 1, 1834 (age about 30 years). Burial location unknown.
