Lawyer; Summit County Auditor, 1886-98; chair of Summit County Republican Party, 1887-91; delegate to Republican National Convention from Ohio, 1892, 1896, 1900, 1904; Ohio Republican state chair, 1892-94, 1899-1907; Secretary of Republican National Committee, 1897-1900; served in the U.S. Army during the Spanish-American War; U.S. Representative from Ohio 19th District, 1898-1904; resigned 1904; U.S. Senator from Ohio, 1904-11; defeated in primary, 1926, 1928. Died in Akron, Summit County, Ohio, March 13, 1945. Interment at Glendale Cemetery.

Lawyer; law partner of Sidney Edgerton; member of Ohio state senate, 1854-55; delegate to Republican National Convention from Ohio, 1864, 1876; U.S. Representative from Ohio 18th District, 1869-73; justice of Ohio state supreme court, 1883; circuit judge in Ohio, 1885-93 (6th Circuit 1885-88, 8th Circuit 1888-93). Congregationalist. Died in Akron, Summit County, Ohio, April 13, 1910. Interment at Glendale Cemetery.
