      Frank Ogilvie Horton (1882-1948) — also known as Frank O. Horton — of Buffalo, Johnson County, Wyo. Born in Muscatine, Muscatine County, Iowa, October 18, 1882. Republican. Served in the U.S. Army during the Spanish-American War; member of Wyoming state house of representatives, 1921-23; member of Wyoming state senate, 1923-31; delegate to Republican National Convention from Wyoming, 1928 (alternate), 1936; member of Republican National Committee from Wyoming, 1937-48; U.S. Representative from Wyoming at-large, 1939-41; defeated, 1940. Died in Sheridan, Sheridan County, Wyo., August 17, 1948 (age 65 years, 304 days). Interment at Willow Grove Cemetery.

      Zachariah Williams Carwile (1818-1887) — also known as Zachariah W. Carwile — of Edgefield District (now Edgefield County), S.C. Born in Newberry, Newberry County, S.C., March 10, 1818. Member of South Carolina state house of representatives from Edgefield, 1852-54, 1856-58. Died in Buffalo, Johnson County, Wyo., November 30, 1887 (age 69 years, 265 days). Interment at Willow Grove Cemetery.
      Relatives: Son of John Schuyler Carwile and Elizabeth (Williams) Carwile; married to Mary Ann Griffin; first cousin once removed of Preston Brooks Carwile, Jefferson Davis Carwile and Franklin Addison Carwile; first cousin twice removed of Addison Brooks Carwile; second cousin twice removed of Howard Hearnes Carwile.
      Political family: Carwile family of South Carolina.

    The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
     
      The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.
