Member of West Virginia state house of delegates from Tucker County, 1925-26. Died in Weston, Lewis County, W.Va., July 31, 1933 (age 59 years, 242 days). Interment at Parsons Cemetery.
      Relatives: Son of Charles Wesley Dorsey and Caroline 'Carrie' (Parks) Dorsey; married 1901 to Ethiel Hester Shaffer; father of Alberta Dorsey (who married Harlan Mayberry Calhoun).

Born in West Virginia, September 15, 1908. Democrat. Nurse; chair of Tucker County Democratic Party, 1949-62. Female. Presbyterian. Member, Order of the Eastern Star; Daughters of the American Revolution. Died, in Claywest House nursing home, St. Charles, St. Charles County, Mo., May 29, 1997 (age 88 years, 256 days). Cremated; ashes interred at Parsons Cemetery.
      Relatives: Daughter of Maurie Jay Collett and Hazel (Ferguson) Collett; married 1926 to Milliard Earl Hilliard.

Banker; mining business; postmaster; Tucker County Sheriff, 1904; member of West Virginia state senate, 1921-44 (14th District 1921-38, 15th District 1939-44). Died in Elkins, Randolph County, W.Va., October 31, 1945 (age 81 years, 61 days). Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
      Presumably named for: Abraham Lincoln
      Relatives: Son of Abraham Byron Helmick and Catherine (Mullenax) Helmick; married, May 17, 1890, to Catherine 'Kate' Flynn; married 1904 to Francis Elizabeth 'Fannie' Liller.

    The Political Graveyard

    The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
     
      The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.
