Greenbury Horras Harrison (1811-1856) — also known as Greenbury H. Harrison; G. H. Harrison — of Houston County, Tex.; Austin, Travis County, Tex. Born in Warren County, Tenn., 1811. Member of Texas Republic House of Representatives, 1840-41; newspaper editor and publisher; shipmaster. Died in 1856 (age about 45 years). Burial location unknown.   Relatives: Son of Joseph D. Harrison and Rachel (Lockhart) Harrison; brother of Hannah D. Harrison (who married Samuel Johnson) and Joseph Carroll Harrison; married to Esther W. Gillespie; married, January 14, 1841, to Anne Catherine Farris (widow of George B. McKinstry).   Political family: Harrison-Rountree family of Austin, Texas.   James King (1787-1838) — of Knoxville, Knox County, Tenn. Born in Montgomery County, Va., 1787. Physician; merchant; steamboat owner; mayor of Knoxville, Tenn., 1837-38. Died in 1838 (age about 51 years). Interment at Old Gray Cemetery, Knoxville, Tenn.   W. B. A. Ramsey (1799-1874) — of Knoxville, Knox County, Tenn. Born in Knoxville, Knox County, Tenn., 1799. Lawyer; newspaper publisher; steamboat business; mayor of Knoxville, Tenn., 1838-39; secretary of state of Tennessee, 1847-55. Died in Davidson County, Tenn., 1874 (age about 75 years). River transportation business; dry goods merchant; grain dealer; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Missouri, 1880; U.S. Representative from Missouri 14th District, 1887-90; died in office 1890. Died in Dexter, Stoddard County, Mo., July 19, 1890 (age 39 years, 127 days). The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
	The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.
