U.S. Representative from Missouri 2nd District, 1893-97. Died in Columbia, Boone County, Mo., December 30, 1932 (age 80 years, 262 days). Interment at Oakland Cemetery.
      Relatives: Son of William Augustus Hall; nephew of Willard Preble Hall.

      Gideon Frank Rothwell (1836-1894) — also known as Gideon F. Rothwell — of Moberly, Randolph County, Mo. Born near Fulton, Callaway County, Mo., April 24, 1836. Democrat. Lawyer; U.S. Representative from Missouri 10th District, 1879-81. Died in Moberly, Randolph County, Mo., January 18, 1894 (age 57 years, 269 days). Interment at Oakland Cemetery.

      E. Y. Keiter (1874-1959) — of Moberly, Randolph County, Mo. Born in Missouri, April 22, 1874. Republican. Minister; candidate for U.S. Representative from Missouri 2nd District, 1922; candidate for Missouri state house of representatives from Randolph County, 1946. Disciples of Christ. Died November 28, 1959 (age 85 years, 220 days). Interment at Oakland Cemetery.
      Richard J. Chamier (1910-1984) — of Moberly, Randolph County, Mo. Born in Moberly, Randolph County, Mo., June 22, 1910. Democrat. Lawyer; Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney, 1935-38; member of Missouri state senate, 1941-42, 1949-52 (13th District 1941-42, 19th District 1949-52); resigned 1942; colonel in the U.S. Army during World War II. Died February 22, 1984 (age 73 years, 245 days). Interment at Oakland Cemetery.
      Relatives: Son of Arthur Berger Chamier and Lulu M. (Jeffries) Chamier.
      Epitaph: "He served the people & his country with justice & compassion."

    The Political Graveyard

    The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 320,919 politicians, living and dead.
     
      The coverage of this site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, members of major federal commissions; and political appointee (pre-1969) postmasters of qualifying communities; (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions; (6) Americans who served as "honorary" consuls for other nations before 1950. Note: municipalities or communities "qualify", for Political Graveyard purposes, if they have at least half a million person-years of history, inclusive of predecessor, successor, and merged entities.  
      The listings are incomplete; development of the database is a continually ongoing project.
