Served in the Union Army during the Civil War; member of Missouri state house of representatives from Hickory County, 1891-94, 1909; died in office 1909. Methodist. Member, Odd Fellows. Died, from pneumonia, in St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City, Cole County, Mo., February 27, 1909 (age 67 years, 181 days). Interment at Lehman Cemetery.
      Relatives: Son of Ebenezer Kerr and Jane (Madden) Kerr; married, May 1, 1866, to Elmira Keen (1845-1920).

President of Weaubleau College, Missouri; of Lincoln College, Kansas; and Union College, Indiana; author; banker; member of Missouri state house of representatives from Hickory County, 1913-14, 1917-24, 1929-36, 1939-42; died in office 1942; candidate for U.S. Representative from Missouri, 1924 (7th District), 1936 (2nd District). Died May 4, 1942 (age 72 years, 288 days). Interment at Weaubleau Congregational Christian Cemetery.
      Relatives: Married, July 20, 1893, to Annetta R. Boyles (1870-1954).
