Broadcast journalist and television news anchor, 1959-68; administrative assistant to U.S. Rep. Patsy Mink, 1968-69; executive assistant to Mayor Frank Fasi, 1969-70; member of Hawaii state senate, 1970-72; candidate for mayor of Honolulu, Hawaii, 1972. Hawaiian and Italian ancestry. Died May 31, 2008 (age 80 years, 75 days). Cremated; ashes scattered in Pacific Ocean.

Relatives: Married 1954 to Mona M. Melrose; father of Andrea Altiery.

Russ Francis (b. 1953) — of Hawaii. Born in Seattle, King County, Wash., April 3, 1953. Republican. Professional football player for the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers; sports broadcaster for ABC, CBS, and ESPN; candidate for U.S. Representative from Hawaii 2nd District, 2000. Still living as of 2000.

Cecil Landau Heftel (1924-2010) — also known as Cecil Heftel — of Hawaii. Born in Chicago, Cook County, Ill., September 30, 1924. Democrat. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II; owner of radio and television stations; candidate for U.S. Senator from Hawaii, 1970; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Hawaii, 1972; U.S. Representative from Hawaii 1st District, 1977-86; resigned 1986; candidate for Governor of Hawaii, 1986. Mormon. Member, Freemasons. Died in Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, February 4, 2010 (age 85 years, 127 days). Interment at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery, Kaneohe, Island of Oahu, Hawaii.

Lawyer; radio commentator; delegate to Hawaii state constitutional convention, 1950; member of Republican National Committee from Hawaii, 1963-70; delegate to Republican National Convention from Hawaii, 1964. Female. Episcopalian. Member, American Association of University Women; Phi Beta Kappa. Burial location unknown.

Relatives: Daughter of James B. Rountree and Elizabeth (Anderson) Rountree; married, October 8, 1940, to George H. Kellerman.
