Candidate for Presidential Elector for New York, 1888; U.S. Representative from New York, 1911-15 (33rd District 1911-13, 37th District 1913-15); defeated, 1926; delegate to Democratic National Convention from New York, 1928. Died, as the result of an automobile accident, in Coopers, Steuben County, N.Y., February 7, 1929 (age 67 years, 123 days). Alternate delegate to Democratic National Convention from New York, 1932. Died in Corning, Steuben County, N.Y., August 31, 1960 (age 70 years, 135 days).
