Farmer; Jennings County Treasurer, 1838; served in the U.S. Army during the Mexican War; member of Indiana state house of representatives, 1847-50, 1865-67; delegate to Indiana state constitutional convention, 1850-51; colonel in the Union Army during the Civil War. Methodist. English ancestry. Died in North Vernon, Jennings County, Ind., March 27, 1874 (age 64 years, 165 days). Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, North Vernon, Ind.

Alonzo Smith Prather (1840-1910) — also known as Alonzo S. Prather — of Taney County, Mo. Born in North Vernon, Jennings County, Ind., July 25, 1840. Lawyer; member of Missouri state house of representatives from Taney County, 1889-90, 1897-1900, 1903-04, 1909-10; died in office 1910. Died in Branson, Taney County, Mo., June 3, 1910 (age 69 years, 313 days). Interment at Vanzandt Cemetery, Kirbyville, Mo.

		Relatives: Son of Hiram Prather and Mary Ann (Huckleberry) Prather; married to Ada Maria McMillan; third cousin once removed of Asa Porter Prather.

Asa Porter Prather (1883-1956) — also known as Asa P. Prather — of Georgetown, Scott County, Ky. Born in Kentucky, May 7, 1883. Garage business; inventor; mayor of Georgetown, Ky., 1933-49, 1953-55. Died, in John Graves Ford Memorial Hospital, Georgetown, Scott County, Ky., March 22, 1956 (age 72 years, 320 days). Interment at Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, Ky.

		Relatives: Son of John Cabell Breckinridge Prather and Emma Dora (Works) Prather; married to Addie May Perry; second cousin twice removed of Hiram Prather; third cousin once removed of Alonzo Smith Prather.
