Merchant; river transportation business; Delaware County Sheriff, 1840; member of Pennsylvania state house of representatives, 1845-46; real estate developer; mayor of Chester, Pa., 1866-72; banker. One of the founders of Chester Rural Cemetery. Died in Chester, Delaware County, Pa., July 22, 1896 (age 91 years, 293 days). Interment at Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, Pa.
  Relatives: Son of Martha (Thomas) Larkin (1765-1837) and John Larkin (1766-1844); married, January 25, 1827, to Charlotte Johnson Morton (1808-1848); married, October 23, 1849, to Mary A. Boggs (1813-1878); ancestor *** of Joseph Larkin Eyre (1905-1976).

  Larkin School (built 1894, demolished 1988), in Chester, Pennsylvania, was named for him.

  Thomas Lawrence Eyre (1862-1926) — also known as T. Lawrence Eyre — of West Chester, Chester County, Pa. Born in Birmingham Township, Chester County, Pa., May 24, 1862. Republican. Member of Pennsylvania state senate 19th District, 1917-26; died in office 1926. Died September 27, 1926 (age 64 years, 126 days). Interment at Oaklands Cemetery, West Chester, Pa.
  Relatives: Third cousin of Stanley Eyre Bowdle (1868-1919); fourth cousin once removed of Joseph Larkin Eyre.

  Stanley Eyre Bowdle (1868-1919) — also known as Stanley E. Bowdle — of Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. Born in Clifton (now part of Cincinnati), Hamilton County, Ohio, September 4, 1868. Democrat. Lawyer; delegate to Ohio state constitutional convention, 1912; U.S. Representative from Ohio 1st District, 1913-15; defeated, 1914, 1916; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Ohio, 1916. Episcopalian. Struck by an automobile while getting off a streetcar, and died a few hours later, in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, April 6, 1919 (age 50 years, 214 days). Interment at Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio.
  Relatives: Son of Daniel D. Bowdle and Ellen E. (Doran) Bowdle; married, November 29, 1900, to Lillian Crane Scott; third cousin of Thomas Lawrence Eyre (1862-1926); fourth cousin once removed of Joseph Larkin Eyre.

Mayor of Chester, Pa., 1956-63. Died in Sacred Heart Hospital, Chester, Delaware County, Pa., December 28, 1976 (age 71 years, 248 days). Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Aston, Pa.
  Relatives: Descendant *** of John Larkin, Jr.; fourth cousin once removed of Thomas Lawrence Eyre (1862-1926) and Stanley Eyre Bowdle.
