  Helen Garrett (1929-2006) — also known as Helen Marie Rickman — of Paducah, McCracken County, Ky.; Lexington, Fayette County, Ky. Born in Paducah, McCracken County, Ky., 1929. Democrat. Member of Kentucky state senate 2nd District, 1979-90; defeated in primary, 1990. Female. Died in Paducah, McCracken County, Ky., October 27, 2006 (age about 77 years). Interment at Mt. Kenton Cemetery, Near Paducah, McCracken County, Ky.
  Relatives: Daughter of John Frank Rickman and Helen Eunice (Bean) Rickman; married 1952 to John Thomas Garrett; mother of Tom Garrett (1954-).

  Tom Garrett (b. 1954) — of Paducah, McCracken County, Ky. Born May 2, 1954. Democrat. Lawyer; chair of McCracken County Democratic Party, 1987-93; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Kentucky, 1988. Baptist. Member, American Bar Association. Still living as of 1993.
  Relatives: Son of John Thomas Garrett (1921-1979) and Helen Garrett; married 1981 to Sandra K. Bennett.
