Member, Grand Army of the Republic; Elks; Knights of Pythias. Died in Manistee, Manistee County, Mich., August 2, 1925. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Lawyer; member of Illinois state senate, 1920-24; delegate to Republican National Convention from Illinois, 1920, 1924, 1928, 1932, 1936, 1940; U.S. Senator from Illinois, 1928-33; defeated, 1932, 1936. Member, Freemasons; Knights of Pythias. Died in Portage Point, Manistee County, Mich., March 11, 1959. Interment at Onekama Cemetery.
