Died in Troy, Rensselaer County, N.Y., January 1, 1820 (age 63 years, 39 days). Interment at Lansingburgh Village Cemetery, Troy, N.Y.
  Relatives: Son of Samuel Selden (1723-1776) and Elizabeth (Ely) Selden (1724-1802); married to Abigail Warren Jones (1768-1800); grandfather of William Selden Gale (1822-1900) and Josiah Gale; second great-grandfather of George Candee Gale.

  William Selden Gale (1822-1900) — also known as W. Selden Gale — of Galesburg, Knox County, Ill. Born in Adams, Jefferson County, N.Y., February 15, 1822. Lawyer; postmaster at Galesburg, Ill., 1849-53; delegate to Illinois state constitutional convention from Knox County, 1862; member of Illinois state house of representatives, 1869; Presidential Elector for Illinois, 1872; delegate to Republican National Convention from Illinois, 1880. Died, from pleurisy, in Galesburg, Knox County, Ill., September 1, 1900 (age 78 years, 198 days). Interment at Hope Cemetery, Galesburg, Ill.
  Relatives: Son of George Washington Gale (1789-1861) and Harriet (Selden) Gale (1800-1840); brother of Josiah Gale (1828-1863); married 1845 to Caroline Elija Ferris (1822-1904); grandson of Charles Selden; grandfather of George Candee Gale.

  Relatives: Son of George Washington Gale (1848-1938) and Frances (Candee) Gale (1850-1904); married 1900 to Irma Reel (1873-1964); grandson of William Selden Gale; grandnephew of Josiah Gale (1828-1863); second great-grandson of Charles Selden.
