  Walter A. Higbee (1881-1970) — of Lancaster, Schuyler County, Mo. Born in Lancaster, Schuyler County, Mo., September 4, 1881. Republican. Lawyer; candidate for U.S. Representative from Missouri 1st District, 1910; Schuyler County Prosecuting Attorney, 1914-18; delegate to Missouri state constitutional convention 12th District, 1922-23; circuit judge in Missouri 37th Circuit, 1927-49; defeated, 1956; delegate to Republican National Convention from Missouri, 1928; candidate for justice of Missouri state supreme court, 1934. Died in 1970 (age about 88 years). Interment at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Lancaster, Mo.
  Relatives: Son of Edward Higbee and Mary Isabell (Birney) Higbee (1848-1935); brother of Paul D. Higbee (1888-?); married, May 26, 1907, to Edna Reeves (1882-1974).
