Byron Delos Shear (1869-1929) — also known as Byron D. Shear — of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Okla. Born in Hillsboro, Vernon County, Wis., April 12, 1869. Republican. Lawyer; mayor of Oklahoma City, Okla., 1918-19; delegate to Republican National Convention from Oklahoma, 1924. Unitarian. Died, from a heart attack, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Okla., June 9, 1929 (age 60 years, 58 days). Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City, Okla.

		Relatives: Son of Thomas J. Shear (1836-1901) and Emergene (Woodbury) Shear (1837-1890); brother of Myrta Viola Shear (1865-1948; who married Oscar A. Mitscher); married, February 26, 1892, to Hulda Ludwig (1836-1901); married 1899 to Ida Malinda Cunningham (1874-1936); uncle of Marc Andrew Mitscher (1887-1947; U.S. Navy Admiral and aviation pioneer).
