Methodist. Member, Odd Fellows. Died in Clarksburg, Harrison County, W.Va., November 21, 1961 (age 96 years, 119 days). Interment at Shinnston Masonic Cemetery, Shinnston, W.Va.

Republican. Served in the U.S. Army during World War I; lawyer; member of West Virginia Republican State Executive Committee, 1940-44; member of West Virginia state senate 13th District, 1943-48; resigned 1948; delegate to Republican National Convention from West Virginia, 1944, 1952, 1956 (member, Committee on Rules and Order of Business), 1960 (alternate). Methodist. Member, Elks; Odd Fellows; Moose; Beta Theta Pi; Phi Alpha Delta; American Legion. Died May 24, 1963 (age 63 years, 316 days). Interment at Shinnston Masonic Cemetery, Shinnston, W.Va.
