Lawyer; North Dakota state attorney general, 1916-20; Governor of North Dakota, 1932-34, 1937-39; defeated (Republican), 1920; removed 1934; U.S. Senator from North Dakota, 1941-59; defeated (Independent), 1938; died in office 1959. Member, Sigma Chi. Died November 8, 1959 (age 73 years, 39 days). Interment at St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery, Casselton, N.Dak.

		Relatives: Son of Frank J. Langer (1849?-?) and Mary (Weber) Langer; married, February 26, 1918, to Lydia Cady; uncle of Morgan Ford.

Morgan Ford (1911-1992) — of San Diego, San Diego County, Calif. Born near Wheatland, Cass County, N.Dak., September 8, 1911. Judge of U.S. Customs Court, 1949-. Died January 2, 1992 (age 80 years, 116 days). Burial location unknown.
