	John Winthrop Jones (1817-1887) — also known as J. Winthrop Jones — of Ellsworth, Hancock County, Maine; Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Kings County, N.Y. Born in Ellsworth, Hancock County, Maine, February 14, 1817. Democrat. School teacher; merchant; shipbuilder; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Maine, 1860; lumber business. Died, from pneumonia, in Greenfield, Franklin County, Mass., September 19, 1887 (age 70 years, 217 days). Burial location unknown.   Relatives: Son of Theodore Jones (1760-1842) and Catherine Winthrop (Sargent) Jones (1775-1848); married to Ann Maria Peters (1819-1887; sister of John Andrew Peters (1822-1904); aunt of John Andrew Peters (1864-1953)); first cousin twice removed of Winthrop Sargent (1753-1820).   Political family: Peters-Sargent family of Ellsworth, Maine.   Winthrop Park (created 1889; renamed 1941 as Msgr. McGolrick Park), in Brooklyn, New York, was named for him.
	John Andrew Peters (1822-1904) — also known as John A. Peters — of Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine. Born in Ellsworth, Hancock County, Maine, October 9, 1822. Republican. Maine state attorney general, 1864-66; U.S. Representative from Maine 4th District, 1867-73; member of Republican National Committee from Maine, 1870-72; justice of Maine state supreme court, 1873-83; chief justice of Maine state supreme court, 1883-1900; resigned 1900. Died in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, April 2, 1904 (age 81 years, 176 days). Interment at Mt. 	John Andrew Peters (1864-1953) — also known as John A. Peters — of Ellsworth, Hancock County, Maine. Born in Ellsworth, Hancock County, Maine, August 13, 1864. Republican. Lawyer; municipal judge in Maine, 1896-98; member of Maine state house of representatives, 1909-13; Speaker of the Maine State House of Representatives, 1913; U.S. Representative from Maine 3rd District, 1913-22; delegate to Republican National Convention from Maine, 1916; U.S. District Judge for Maine, 1922. Congregationalist. Member, Phi Beta Kappa. Died in 1953 (age about 88 years). Interment at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth, Maine.   Relatives: Son of William B.
