  Joseph Schulum, Jr. (d. 1906) — of New York, New York County, N.Y. Son of Joseph Schulum. Democrat. Cigar manufacturer; member of New York state assembly from New York County 12th District, 1896-98. German ancestry. Member, Freemasons; Tammany Hall. Died, of pneumonia, in Manhattan, New York County, N.Y., February 4, 1906. Interment at Salem Fields Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y.

  Joseph William Stevens — also known as Joseph W. Stevens — of Albany, Albany County, N.Y. Republican. Served in the Union Army during the Civil War; tobacco merchant; mayor of Albany, N.Y., 1914-17. Interment at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, N.Y.
  Albert Stoll (b. 1852) — of Detroit, Wayne County, Mich. Born in Detroit, Wayne County, Mich., August 10, 1852. Republican. Cigar business; insurance business; member of Michigan state senate 2nd District, 1899-1900. Burial location unknown.
  William Thomas Sutherlin (1822-1893) — also known as William T. Sutherlin — of Danville, Va. Born in Pittsylvania County, Va., April 17, 1822. Tobacco merchant; banker; real estate and insurance business; mayor of Danville, Va., 1855-61; delegate to Virginia secession convention, 1861; major in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Methodist. His mansion housed Confederate President Jefferson Davis at the time of the surrender in 1865; the house is now the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History. Died in Danville, Va., July 22, 1893 (age 71 years, 96 days). Interment at Green Hill Cemetery, Danville, Va.

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.
