Member, American Legion; Elks. Died suddenly, from a coronary occlusion, on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, in the U.S. Capitol Building, Washington, D.C., March 28, 1960 (age 68 years, 289 days). Interment at Fern Hill Cemetery.

Member, Loyal Legion; Sons of the American Revolution; Freemasons; Knights Templar. Died in the American Lake veterans hospital, Fort Lewis, Pierce County, Wash., January 17, 1957 (age 87 years, 318 days). Interment at Sunset Memorial Park.
