Son of Alexander Wilson Acheson and Jane (Wishart) Acheson. Republican. Served in the Union Army during the Civil War; physician; candidate for Governor of Texas, 1906; candidate for U.S. Senator from Texas, 1916; candidate for U.S. Representative from Texas 4th District, 1920. Presbyterian. Member, Elks. Died September 7, 1934 (age 91 years, 330 days). Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Denison, Tex.

  Aris Tee Allen (1910-1991) — also known as Aris T. Allen — of Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, Md. Born in San Antonio, Bexar County, Tex., December 27, 1910. Son of James Allen and Maryetta (Whitby) Allen. Republican. Physician; member of Maryland state house of delegates, 1969-73; delegate to Republican National Convention from Maryland, 1972 (delegation chair). African Methodist Episcopal. African ancestry. Member, Alpha Phi Alpha; American Medical Association; American Legion; NAACP. Died February 8, 1991 (age 80 years, 43 days). Burial location unknown.
  Branch Tanner Archer (1790-1856) — Born in Fauquier County, Va., December 13, 1790. Physician; member of Virginia House of Burgesses, 1819-20; delegate to Texas Convention of 1833 from District of Columbia, 1833; delegate to Texas Consultation of 1835 from District of Columbia, 1835; served in the Texas Army during the Texas War of Independence; member of Texas Republic House of Representatives, 1836; Texas Republic Secretary of War, 1840-41. Member, Freemasons. Died in Brazoria, Brazoria County, Tex., September 22, 1856 (age 65 years, 284 days). Interment at Restwood Memorial Park, Clute, Tex.

  Joseph H. Barnard (d. 1861) — of Fort Bend County, Tex. Born in Canada. Physician; served in the Texas Army during the Texas War of Independence; member of Texas Republic House of Representatives, 1843-44. Died in Canada, 1861. Burial location unknown.
  J. W. E. H. Beck (born c.1878) — of De Kalb, Bowie County, Tex. Born in Georgia, about 1878. Democrat. Physician; farmer; member of Texas state senate 1st District, 1929-33. Burial location unknown.
  Lyman Warren Bliss (1836-1907) — also known as Lyman W. Bliss; "Doctor Joy" — of Saginaw, Saginaw County, Mich. Born in Peterboro, Madison County, N.Y., July 12, 1836. Son of Lyman Bliss and Anna M. (Chaffee) Bliss. Republican. Served in the Union Army during the Civil War; physician; lumber business; mayor of Saginaw, Mich., 1879-81, 1888-89; defeated, 1890. Died in a hospital at San Antonio, Bexar County, Tex., February 19, 1907 (age 70 years, 222 days). Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Saginaw, Mich.
  Relatives: Son of Lyman Bliss and Anna M. (Chaffee) Bliss; married, July 27, 1858, to Mary Jerome (1838-1872); married, September 18, 1877, to Harriett (Granger) Miller (died 1887); married, November 2, 1892, to May Cummiskey; brother of Aaron Thomas Bliss.
  Michael C. Burgess (b. 1950) — of Highland Village, Denton County, Tex. Born in Rochester, Olmsted County, Minn., December 23, 1950. Republican. Physician; U.S. Representative from Texas 26th District, 2003-. Episcopalian. Still living as of 2009.

  James Britton Cranfill (1858-1942) — also known as James B. Cranfill — of Dallas, Dallas County, Tex. Born in Parker County, Tex., September 12, 1858. Son of Eaton Cranfill and Martha Jane (Galloway) Cranfill. Physician; newspaper editor; Baptist minister; Prohibition candidate for Vice President of the United States, 1892. Baptist. Died December 28, 1942 (age 84 years, 107 days). Interment at Grove Hill Memorial Park, Dallas, Tex.

  Jethro Ayers Hatch (1837-1912) — also known as Jethro A. Hatch — of Kentland, Newton County, Ind. Born in Pitcher, Chenango County, N.Y., June 18, 1837. Republican. Physician; served in the Union Army during the Civil War; member of Indiana state house of representatives, 1872; alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from Indiana, 1888; U.S. Representative from Indiana 10th District, 1895-97. Died in Victoria, Victoria County, Tex., August 3, 1912 (age 75 years, 46 days). Interment at Fairlawn Cemetery, Kentland, Ind.

Physician; U.S. Representative from Texas, 1976-77, 1979-85, 1997- (22nd District 1976-77, 1979-85, 14th District 1997-2004); defeated (Republican), 1974, 1976; candidate in Republican primary for U.S. Senator from Texas, 1984; candidate for President of the United States, 1988 (Libertarian), 2008 (Constitution); candidate for Republican nomination for President, 2008. The Political Graveyard

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.
