Farmer; member of Minnesota state senate 22nd District, 1935-48; delegate to Republican National Convention from Minnesota, 1948, 1952, 1960 (alternate), 1964; Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota, 1953-54; candidate for Governor of Minnesota, 1956; Minnesota Republican state chair, 1958; U.S. Representative from Minnesota 2nd District, 1959-75. Lutheran. Danish ancestry. Member, Freemasons; Farm Bureau. Died in Hutchinson, McLeod County, Minn., November 30, 1992 (age 88 years, 50 days). Interment at Oakland Cemetery.

Newspaper editor and publisher; naturalist; Minnesota Fish and Game Commissioner; candidate for Governor of Minnesota, 1924. Died, from a stroke of apoplexy, in Rockville Centre, Nassau County, Long Island, N.Y., October 4, 1930 (age 62 years, 252 days). Interment at Oakland Cemetery.

Lawyer; candidate for Lieutenant Governor of North Dakota, 1942; candidate for Governor of North Dakota, 1946; U.S. Representative from North Dakota at-large, 1959-60; U.S. Senator from North Dakota, 1960-92; defeated, 1956; died in office 1992. Congregationalist. Member, Sigma Nu; Freemasons; Elks; Eagles. Died, from heart disease, in St. Luke's Hospital, Fargo, Cass County, N.Dak., September 8, 1992 (age 84 years, 81 days). Interment at Bohemian Cemetery.

		Relatives: Son of Usher Lloyd Burdick and Emma Robertson Burdick; married, March 18, 1933, to Marietta Janecky (1912-1958); married 1960 to Jocelyn Birch Peterson; brother of Eileen Burdick (who married Robert Woodrow Levering). See Burdick family of North Dakota.

	The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.
