Allaman (1834-1894) and Adeline (Bedell) Allaman (1837-1919). Democrat. Physician; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Kansas, 1920. Member, Odd Fellows. Died September 24, 1937 (age 74 years, 361 days). Interment at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Atchison, Kan.
  Relatives: Son of John T. Allaman (1834-1894) and Adeline (Bedell) Allaman (1837-1919); married, October 2, 1884, to Ida Campbell McGill (1863-1907); married to Olive Simpson (1883-1947); father of Walter Rex Allaman.

  Edwin Bird Allen (1836-1908) — also known as Edwin B. Allen — of Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kan. Born near Oberlin, Lorain County, Ohio, March 7, 1836. Republican. Physician; Sedgwick County Coroner, 1870-71; mayor of Wichita, Kan., 1871-72; member of Kansas state house of representatives, 1872-76, 1883-84; secretary of state of Kansas, 1885-89. Member, Freemasons. Died, of a cerebral hemorrhage, in the State Hospital for Insane, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Mo., March 31, 1908 (age 72 years, 24 days). Interment at Highland Cemetery, Wichita, Kan.
  Relatives: Brother of Joseph P. Allen.
  H. H. Brookhart — of Columbus, Cherokee County, Kan. Democrat. Physician; alternate delegate to Democratic National Convention from Kansas, 1936. Presumed deceased. Burial location unknown.
  William George Graham (1841-1914) — of Winfield, Cowley County, Kan. Born in Holmes County, Ohio, April 18, 1841. Served in the Union Army during the Civil War; physician; mayor of Winfield, Kan., 1885-86, 1891. Died in Winfield, Cowley County, Kan., January 2, 1914 (age 72 years, 259 days). Interment at Graham Cemetery, Winfield, Kan.
  George Morris Gray (1856-1958) — of Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kan. Born in Waukegan, Lake County, Ill., March 4, 1856. Surgeon; mayor of Kansas City, Kan., 1906-07. Died August 12, 1958 (age 102 years, 161 days). Interment at Quindaro Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.
  Merle A. Hodges — of Salina, Saline County, Kan. Physician; mayor of Salina, Kan., 1981-82, 1985-86. Still living as of 1986.
  Clarence Martin Montee (b. 1886) — of Pittsburg, Crawford County, Kan. Born in Cherokee, Crawford County, Kan., February 17, 1886. Son of Francis Marion Montee and Mary Emma (Purdum) Montee. Republican. Physician; surgeon; mayor of Pittsburg, Kan., 1923-27. Christian. Member, Woodmen; Freemasons. Burial location unknown.

  Leighton Price Ravenscroft (1860-1945) — of Winfield, Cowley County, Kan. Born June 24, 1860. Physician; mayor of Winfield, Kan., 1925, 1928, 1938, 1940, 1942, 1944. Died June 12, 1945 (age 84 years, 353 days). Interment at Highland Cemetery, Winfield, Kan.
  Joseph Pomeroy Root (1826-1885) — also known as Joseph P. Root — of Wyandotte (now part of Kansas City), Wyandotte County, Kan. Born in 1826. Physician; member of Connecticut state house of representatives, 1855; member Kansas territorial council, 1857; Lieutenant Governor of Kansas, 1861-63; served in the Union Army during the Civil War; U.S. Minister to Chile, 1870-73; delegate to Republican National Convention from Kansas, 1884. Died in 1885 (age about 59 years). Burial location unknown.

  William Robert Roy (b. 1926) — also known as Bill Roy — of Topeka, Shawnee County, Kan.; Lenexa, Johnson County, Kan. Born in Illinois, February 23, 1926. Democrat. Physician; U.S. Representative from Kansas 2nd District, 1971-75; candidate for U.S. Senator from Kansas, 1974, 1978; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Kansas, 1984, 2004. Still living as of 2004.

  Allen Wilson Sandidge (1899-1972) — also known as Allen W. Sandidge — of Mulberry, Crawford County, Kan. Born in Kansas, January 27, 1899. Son of James Gilmore Sandidge (1870-1948) and Florence (Miller) Sandidge. Democrat. Physician; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Kansas, 1936. Died January 9, 1972 (age 72 years, 347 days). Interment at Rosebank Cemetery, Mulberry, Kan.

The Political Graveyard is a web site about U.S. political history and cemeteries. Founded in 1996, it is the Internet's most comprehensive free source for American political biography, listing 234,420 politicians, living and dead.
 
  The coverage of the site includes (1) the President, Vice President, members of Congress, elected state and territorial officeholders in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories; and the chief elected official, typically the mayor, of qualifying municipalities; (2) candidates at election, including primaries, for any of the above; (3) all federal judges and all state appellate judges; (4) certain federal officials, including the federal cabinet, diplomatic chiefs of mission, consuls, U.S. district attorneys, collectors of customs and internal revenue, and members of major federal commissions; and (5) state and national political party officials, including delegates, alternate delegates, and other participants in national party nominating conventions.
